Read the Label: What We Leave Out

No parabens, no sulfates, no synthetic fragrance, no fillers. A plain-English guide to the ingredients we will never put in a Pure Sea bottle.

A clean label is not about marketing buzzwords. It is about a short, deliberate list of ingredients that earn their place. Here is what we leave out of every Pure Sea formula, and why.

Parabens

Parabens are cheap, effective preservatives — which is exactly why they are everywhere. The trouble is, multiple studies link long-term exposure to hormone disruption. We use safer modern preservation systems that keep formulas stable without the trade-off.

Sulfates (SLS / SLES)

Sulfates make a satisfying foam, but they strip the skin barrier on the way out. If you have ever felt tight or squeaky after washing, that is sulfates. Our cleansers use gentle plant-derived surfactants that lift away oil and dirt without dismantling the moisture barrier underneath.

Synthetic fragrance

"Fragrance" on an ingredient list can hide dozens of undisclosed compounds — and it is the single most common trigger for skin irritation. We use only naturally derived aromatics, and we tell you exactly which ones. If a product is unscented, it is genuinely unscented.

Fillers and dilutants

Many products are mostly water, glycerin, and silicone fillers, with the actives sprinkled in at concentrations too low to do anything. Our formulas are concentrated by design — the actives are listed near the top of the ingredient list because they are actually in there at working levels.

What stays

Cold-pressed plant oils, marine botanicals, vitamin C and E, hyaluronic acid, caffeine, niacinamide, peptides — ingredients with decades of evidence behind them, used at concentrations that actually deliver a result. That is the whole list.
